Oh Kentucky
Oh these fields, from purple to yellow
Reminding me I’m just another fellow
Though I may trip and I may stumble
Kentucky always reminds me to be humble
There’s something so calming about this land
Something that makes it feel so grand
Always seeming to be here to hold my hand
Oh Kentucky, how in spring you seem to glow
Giving me ease through life as I flow
Telling me there’s nowhere else I’d rather go
Oh these hills so covered in their trees
Even my restless heart these seem to appease
Among all these beautiful shades of greens
I’m reminded of all of life’s purity behind the scenes
Each of us Kentuckians headed to our place of rest
And just to be here, we’re some of the most blessed
