An Afternoon’s Walk
People fighting for food and water, a woman about to jump …all to be seen in just an afternoon’s walk.
This place we’ve decided to call home and yet all people seem to want to do is gawk.
The more you see that glimpse of the end,
The more you’ll realize that you only have yourself to call a friend.
How to be more present, how to be more free?
I suppose they say the first step is to be more okay just being me.
And when all is said and done, there will be no doubt to my worth,
From every inch of this city to every corner of this earth.
They’ll know I’ve done it all,
A man who always had it all.
Let them remember this,
That everything they think is possible
You can achieve perfect bliss.
At a cost it all came,
But along the journey, a new man is what I became.
I guess at the end of the day there’s nothing else to do but live,
To this one ever present moment my all I will give.
You are fabulous,
It’s you and this world, it is us.
Remember, listen with your perfect heart my angel, listen with your youthful ear,
There’s nowhere else you need to be but here.
