Amongst My Latest Return

By Jeremy Kendrick

I’m out here amongst the hills of the great Appalachia

Along I ride and I flow
Crossing that sign into Louisville metro

Crossing from state to state
For coming home, I simply couldn’t wait

Sure there’s trepidation in being back
Here to give day to day another crack

Feeling the steadiness in the way that I flow
Knowing there’s nowhere else I’d rather go

Across the county I continue to roam
Always coming back to my love, my life and my home

No I never said it was easy
But remember to feel the wind and how she’s ever so breezy

Through these streets I zip and I zoom
How could things ever truly be gloom and doom
Remembering that even the trees know when to bloom

For greatness and purity I yearn
So here I am, amongst my latest return
Knowing that again, it’s my turn
