A Stranger at the Corner Cafe

By Jeremy Kendrick

Here I am, crying out of joy yet again
Counting every blessing that ever has been

Never cared for the phrase blessed
Yet as I feel my heart about to beat out of my chest
Out amongst the thrill of life’s quest
Forgetting anytime I was ever stressed
I think to myself, here’s another moment that is truly the best

These moments of joy I can’t help but indulge in
Whether it’s right or whether it’s a sin
Life is so fabulous, just as it always has been

From friends to a stranger at the corner cafe
We’re all here together, making this perfect day
Each helping pave each other’s flawless way
Something so pure and effortless, I can’t even properly convey

Help me to carry this feeling out into my daily reality
For I hope this feeling is something I can always see
This version of me, I pray to always be

I find myself again praising this ever present universe
Thank you for your melody, so perfect in every verse
