They Say Eat the Rich

By Jeremy Kendrick

Houses so big that some could only dream of
No matter how much we push and how much we shove

So much money, enough for all of us to eat
Something so simple that doesn’t even seem like a feat

Yet I never really seem to mind
Each of them, one of a kind
Each of them, so flawlessly designed

They say eat the rich
But wouldn’t that be a bitch
The view of their mansions isn’t something I’d want to ditch

Roam along their perfect streets
Wishing you were sitting in their seats

As for me, I’m just happy for the view
Something only privilege to a few

I’m aware of the inequality
But man is that view quality

No, life for most of us isn’t fair
But to change any aspect, I wouldn’t dare

Let me make one thing clear
I’m grateful just to be here
Off my course, I never plan to veer
For life’s plans, I’m happy to adhere
