About

Raised along the edge of Kentucky, Jeremy Kendrick has grown his love of poetry throughout the years. Raised by his mother who was an English teacher and inspired by poems like “Since Feeling is First” by E.E. Cummings at an early age, he grew up with an appreciation of the written word, something he continued to embrace as he grew older.

Jeremy began in 2019 formally writing for himself, just to keep memory of the things that he felt, a simple poem here and there. All of the emotions that come across a person’s heart, he took those to words.

Seeing things from near and far, he knew that the sights he was seeing beyond what meets the eye were something to jot down and keep for a lifetime. Each piece is something that was prompted by a single sentiment in a single moment that he wanted to bring to life.

After seven years of writing, in 2026, he decided to share his writings with the world.

His love of everything from the hills, to the streets, to the rolling of every inch of water from here and across the world, grew him to write every time he felt a simple calling. From life, to hardship, to love, to existential bliss, Jeremy writes from the heart for every instance of what life may bring.

Growing up in the small town of Paducah and moving to the city of Louisville as an adult, Jeremy decided Kentucky was a place to continue calling home throughout his journey. Even after traveling across the United States and a multitude of countries and continents, The Kentucky Poet keeps claim to the mighty Bluegrass State as his place of sanctuary.
